Toufool | My First Diddy Kong Racing Speedrun (June 2010) - 100% New Game Single Segment in 2:35:37 @Toufool | Uploaded 3 years ago | Updated 1 day ago
This is the first speedrun of Diddy Kong Racing I ever completed. It's also some of the earliest footage I probably have of me playing DKR. This speedrun was completed in around June of 2010 and adheres to SDA "100% new game single segment" rules at the time. Timing I believe started when I took control of Bumper and ended when the 2nd credits rolled. It was common for SDA timing to start when you first gained control of your character and to end on the credits. At the time this was not a WR (I think 0xwas had a faster time) but it did beat the current SDA time of 2:37:24. The video was split into 5 parts and has some video/audio desync issues in places. Gotta love recording on a Dazzle DVC90. At the time I was young (15) and I thought SDA was like a World Record site, which is why I submitted my first ever run. It was going to be accepted but I had them reject it simply because I said I would try to improve it. The SDA time period in speedrunning was odd.. hah.
Mainly uploading this for archival reasons, I recently found it on my old Windows XP laptop. This game is very meaningful to me, so I was pretty excited that my first ever full-game run of this game survived on that laptop after all this time.
