NBA Live 2005 is one of the most talked-about basketball games ever — but for me, this was the game that made me walk away from the NBA Live series completely.
In this video, I’m playing NBA Live 2005 and breaking down exactly why I couldn’t stand it. The gameplay became way too arcade-style, the on-court feel took a step back, and it stopped feeling like real basketball. Outside of All-Star Weekend, there just wasn’t much there that kept me coming back.
A lot of fans swear this game was elite, but this was the moment I realized NBA Live was going in the wrong direction — and why I eventually moved on to 2K.
