This is one of my favourite albums of all time. Size Isn’t Everything, a 1993 album from the Bee Gees. This LP is special to me for a variety of reasons. It’s one of the later records from the Bee Gees discography and was released at a time where vinyl as a format was dying off, so having it on the shelf feels very special indeed.
Size Isn’t Everything used a lot of contemporary sounds for its time, and the track-list is just one belter after another. From the fast start of Paying the Price of Love to sublime ballads like Blue Island, all capped off with a cracking 90s remix of one of their biggest hits, You Should Be Dancing, titled here as Decadence.
With this being on vinyl the sleeve contains all the lyrics to the songs on the album, as well as some great production photos. And you’ll notice that the Bee Gees dedicated this album to their father, who died during the production of this album.
Size Isn’t Everything is often overlooked for the Bee Gee’s mega hits of the 70s, but I highly recommend you give it a listen. The vinyl is rare, my copy is a Spanish pressing, but you can pick it up cheap on CD, and it is available to stream as well.
