i just finished this book in one night! in approximately 20-30 minutes actually because i was so excited. it has 205 pages. i picked it up from the library last week and it excited me very much because i remember buying the first of the series from a scholastic book fair during middle school at a school i don’t go to anymore. i adored my sparks book so much, read and reread it and really took in every detail. i found a few years back that there was a second and third book released too, but around that same time i found i couldn’t locate my original first installment sparks book anymore. still can’t find it to this day :[. but the charm i remember the first book having carries over beautifully into the second.
this is my favorite page of the book. it struck my eye easily because of that last panel. i love this kind of friendship, this seeing a connection with another person everywhere you look, this charming devotion. if you take away all the context of the story, its clear in that last panel that these two cats are the best of friends, and they have something really sweet and beautiful. especially with the party decorations for one of the cats. this is a jolly time. this is something beautiful.

anyways, video jumpscare!! i didn’t think i’d be making a video tonight but i need to upload more raw footage in general. pure unedited whimsy through slow cinematography. i want to share my train of thought more, and my general reflection on the things i experience. this night was really special, and i can’t believe i finished this book as fast as i did. literally was taken aback when i checked how many pages were left. i don’t read much but somehow i’ve gotten faster over my years!!
i believe the original sparks book influenced my style greatly, actually. sometimes things i see influence me subconsciously, only for a much later me having made something beautiful to look back on something that inspired me and notice all the details. and sometimes that product of that subconscious influence is a character that becomes a systemmate. then we both get to reexperience it!!

my whole system read this book with me tonight. its such a playful tale and im so excited to read the third one i’ve also checked out. my heart goes out to the original book i can’t find. maybe this is some kind of memento to the magic of this series. bonus thing, this whole book smelled strangely like cat or cat pee or cat food. and i swear hairs were falling out of it. there were a few crumbs stuck to the page and scratches too, but nothing too distinct. that kind of wear and tear (minus the cat hair and crumbs) reminds me of my experience with books i owned, stimming by folding the corners of pages.

i think that’s all i have to say though. i took this video to both savor the moment and to share on a server im on, but the nitro-less media share capacity i swear had been lowered even further, so im uploading this to youtube to help. i loved writing this reflection and im excited to make more fun videos like this for the coming year! to document my life :]. if not through vlog, then through text! which is probably just called a blog.
