A little while back I made a custom reflex viewer for my Shen Hao TFC 617-A camera. It was a lot of work…and the end result kind of sucked. I mean it did the job as designed but it just felt flimsy and cheap. That’s probably because I made it out of a bunch of craft store materials.
Not long after I made the thing, a chap named Darak over at Pangolin Gears reached out to me. He wanted to make a proper version for me and for himself, because, you see, he also has a TFC 617. Fast forward several months and boom, we got the Pangolin Gears | Nick Carver TFC617 Reflex Viewer available for purchase. We’re gonna be rich. RICH I TELL YA!
I gotta say it’s pretty sweet not having to use a focusing hood anymore. This is the future, my friends, and times are-a-changing. Bye-bye, dark cloth. Bye-bye, upside composing. Hello, a newfound appreciation and understanding of 3D printing.
