For many years I use the cash envelopes to control how much I spend, I been successful in the way I did before and I was able to go from zero to a great credit score (as a new person in the country I joined with no credit, no matter how good were your finances before move to US, your score will be zero). I worked hard to build a good score and to be able to have some savings in the bank. I don't make a lot of money and my only income comes from my pay check, my husband and I have separated incomes and accounts, he takes care of some of the bills and I take care of the ones that I can afford. After so many years saving and from time to time having some shopping speeds, I decided to use my system in a new way, this time having total control of how much I get paid and directing every cent to the right place. I want to make this challenge to myself no thinking that I have a back up money in my savings, I want to do it from $0. I wanna be able to get:
CHALLENGES:
- Money ready for Mortgage (twice in the year) - Sinking Fund #1
- Money ready for my insurance (one payment) - Sinking Fund #2
- New Phone (six months from here) - Sinking Fund #3
- New watch (six months from here) - Sinking Found #4
- Base payment for a new car (Two years) - Sinking Fund #5
- Savings (anything that is left, this time it is not half of my check)
I will be a review of my Budget every month while doing a "Plan with me" video so I get motivation and also push myself to continue.
