A couple of days earlier than expected: Here are fourteen books that stood out to me this year by virtue of subject as well as quality of writing. As per usual, it’s books that I read this year, not necessarily books that were published this year (although three of them were).
~ My top reads of 2020 ~
The Lost Man by Jane Harper
Bitter Legacy by Dal Maclean
No Country for Old Men by Cormac McCarthy
The Return of John Macnab by Andrew Greig
Winter Count by Barry Lopez
The Lie by Helen Dunmore
Master Georgie by Beryl Bainbridge
Piranesi by Susanna Clarke
The Faerie Hounds of York by Arden Powell
Whistling in the Dark by Tamara Allen
Mended With Gold by Lee Welch
Division Bells by Iona Datt Sharma
Glitterland by Alexis Hall
Prosperity by Alexis Hall
