My Best Money Moves in 2024 @BeatTheBush

Looking back in 2023 and 2024, there are several things that contributed to my net worth gains. I moved my money when I see an opportunity and the 3% match on retirement accounts was a banger. My primary residence, retirement and brokerage appreciation, and 1099 and W2 income all contributed significantly.

In terms of losses you could say Dogecoin was a bit of a loss or sort of a huge roller coaster ride. It still made money but it was insane. Buying the Tesla Model 3 Performance was both good and bad. It gave a good perspective into the value of a Tesla car by understanding the build quality, FSD, and what it is really like owning the car giving valuable insight into the stock. The bad part is the depreciation of nearly $10k/year going from $72 value down to about $30 now. Ouch.

External to the battery is an inverter, charger, and solar panel. In a typical power station, it is all built into one unit but when it is split apart like this, you get the option of replacing each component as needed without having to service the entire product. There are trade offs to having it this way and I tested the various components to see how well it runs. It effectively loads the solar panels so that the maximum power is transferred. How does it do this and what does the power and voltages look like when it is in action? How does it compare to a solar charge controller without MPPT? Generally, it can save you 10-45% depending on the conditions so it is pretty significant. Being electronic, it has no moving parts so reliability would naturally be high as well. This is as opposed to say, buying more solar panels to get higher wattage, or even a solar tracker that moves the panels mechanically.
