After losing Emilia, Edward buried himself in work, including a little side project called playing god
He thought if he made Emilia a new body, she could come back fully. After a lot of grave robbing (...the ends justify the means I guess) and experimenting, he made a successful prototype based on himself. AKA the fool cloned himself as a little girl lol
yes he's trans that's why
Only problem is, Em isn't too fond of him spending time with "the thing", because that means he's distracted from working on her body. Obviously like any good step-parent, she plans on getting rid of her. (for legal reasons this is a joke, step-parents can be cool)
