It was eventually a fail, but still pretty impressive that those tiny screw threads holding a set screw in place were able to prevent the hub from sliding off for so long from my dust collector. I could have used a different material for the hub and a longer set screw, that probably would have worked for quite a while longer, but I want to experiment a bit with different designs and having a steel hub and 3D printed blades makes quite a bit more sense to me. The price was right for the parts so I made the modifications and welded a few pieces together and made the parts that I think will last over the longer-term.

I've love to experiment with different designs and also eventually different motors and forms of dust separation. Using Dyson motor and dust separation tech in a woodworking dust collector would be ideal.
