More information about how I learned German below (I learned most of it at University in Germany besides one semester with a private German tutor from italki):

My italki teacher used the textbook of my choice (linked below) during our fully customisable lessons so when I told her I wanted to learn the B1 level in 2 months, we worked out a plan to make that happen.

πŸ”΅ In this video I will show 5 clips of me speaking German between 2 years from 2018 to 2020 (from A1 to B2.1).

The first clip I was at the A1 level and just began taking classes at the university of Oldenburg in Germany, then I continued to take A2, then B1 with a private online native German tutor (info below).

The second to last clip I was enrolled in the B2 course and then I quit somewhere in the middle of the class so I did not fully finish the B2 level but I was almost there. I can speak fluently which I think is the most obvious change from the beginning to the end of the video.

Keywords: German learning, learn German, how to learn German, German language, German lessons, American in Germany. How to get to B2 level. How to pass the B1 onset C-test.

πŸ”΅ The textbook I used with my italki teacher is from "Netzwerk - Deutsch als Fremdsprache" and it's also the textbook we used at the University of Oldenburg for all of my German classes: (each level comes with a Kursbuch and an Arbeitsbuch. The teacher teaches you lessons out of the Kursbuch and the homework you do is in the Arbeitsbuch)

πŸ”΅ A1 Netzwerk workbook: amzn.to/3eswMb8
πŸ”΅ A1 Netzwerk coursebook: amzn.to/3l5cNAc

πŸ”΅ A2: (I can't find this Netzwerk book on amazon sorry)

πŸ”΅ B1.1 Netzwerk Kurs and Arbeitsbuch: amzn.to/3rPr0n4
πŸ”΅ B1.2 Netzwerk Kurs and Arbeitsbuch: amzn.to/2NqMTdq

πŸ”΅ The B2 textbook we used at the University in Oldenburg to prepare us for University in Germany and to pass the entrance exam (for advanced learning):
Mittelpunkt neu B2: amzn.to/38qWMQj

πŸ”΅ An easier B2 textbook that is for daily life and not just University (the book that Goethe uses) would be:
B2: Aspekt neu Mittelstufe Deutsch: amzn.to/3qtTUbq
