Long story short: new teaching job I'm prepping for + books I'm trying to complete + Animal Crossing + birthday = less time and interest in completing this. I'm disappointed that I couldn't work up the energy to get it to my usual standards, but it was either work overtime to get it up late, skip the round entirely, or this. Just pretend Maui's masked on to the ship having fun with the other princes.

PLOT:
In a flashback, we see that young Maui has grown to care for his younger sisters, something his father is pleased with (Tui not being a hardass for once? What sorcery is this??) Unfortunately, he's called away to help settle one of the new island colonies. Maui wants to go help, but Tui promises that he can join him when he's older. That won't stop little Maui though, and he ushers his sisters off to his grandma while he sneaks off, unaware that Vaiana is following him...
In the present, Eric is throwing a yacht party where the princesses perform a big song and dance number out at sea. Maui cheers on Arista (of course). Chula jokes about Maui having his "eyes on the prize" but Maui says it's only because Arista is talented. He goes on to list all the things he likes about her until he realizes Arista is listening in. Slightly embarrassed, he introduces her to Hei-Hei.
Eric makes a big announcement: the reason he's throwing this celebration is to reveal that he and Ariel are expecting their next child. Everyone parties and Maui congratulates him. Eric asks if Maui has ever thought about having kids one day. Maui isn't sure. Moments later, he realizes Hei-Hei has fallen overboard. He and Arista jump in the water and they both save him. Triton gives them a "lift" back on to the boat. Maui shakes it off and gets back to doing what he loves best, dancing like crazy.
