I remember years ago hearing an interview with Tommy James (of the Shondells) saying how he was inspired 2 write his hit song "Mony Mony" by watching a Mutual of New York sign outside a window. I'm guessing sometime after that hit record and before "Welcome Back Kotter", John Travolta did this commercial 4 MoNY, referring to himself as 'Brian' and working in a luncheonette that has a very old cash register and appears very dark from the outside!!
