Why is it called muted? Because I actually recorded my voice saying it but I muted it instead because I don't want people to make fun of my voice

What happened?
I just feel like I'm a backup to some people,
and like I'm just an outcast in the friend group.
My online buddies don't really let me play with them because I'm a girl (?) or because I'm gay (?)
My irl buddies don't really care about me, and insult me a lot :/
I'll just change myself a bit so they can ""like"" me more, even though I know it's not right to do so.
