It was a beautiful evening and I forgot my race gates at home, so I decided to use these trees for some practice. It was super fun! Build details below...
If you're looking for a 4" bind-n-fly drone, then check out the official TWIG Mutant 4 BNF (bit.ly/twig-mutant-4-bnf). It is 4S only (not 6S like mine), but should otherwise have very similar specs and flight performance.
My Current Build:
- TWIG Mutant-R frame & canopy (Mine is a prototype of a new racing version coming soon)
- BETAFPV 35A 2-6S F4 AIO FC (bit.ly/35A-AIO-FC-BLHeli_32).
- 16AWG power lead with XT30 (bit.ly/2Q7AlGA)
- 330uF 35V capacitor (attached directly to VBAT inside the canopy)
- EMAX 1606 3300KV motors (bit.ly/2W7EnT8). These are 4S motors but I'm running 6S with an output limit (see below).
- Gemfan 4032 3-blade props (bit.ly/2xtxeSN)
- Caddx Baby Ratel camera (bit.ly/2vdfcDy)
- Eachine Nano VTX (bit.ly/3aJgnJW)
- AXII Stubby VTX antenna (bit.ly/2LHalze)
- TBS Crossfire Nano Rx with Immortal-T V2 (bit.ly/36c3FlV)
- Running BLHeli32 and Betaflight 4.2RC1
- Props Out
I run this same build on both 4S and 6S using the same tune. For 6S I use command "set motor_output_limit = 67". They fly about the same, but it requires much less current when running on 6S.
Good 6S batteries for this racing setup:
- Tattu R-Line 650mAh 6S with XT30 (bit.ly/2z9GVqN)
- GNB 750mAh 6S with XT30 (bit.ly/2ZfXXOx)
A good 4S battery (not quite big enough for racing on a larger track though):
- Tattu R-Line 850mAh 4S with XT30 (bit.ly/2IRwJ7L)
