On this episode of Adventures of La Mari, I am going to introduce ya’ll to the oldest festival in Baden-Württemberg - which is the federal state I currently reside in Germany.

Muswiese is old. How old? The first mention of this glorified farmer’s market is 1434 but even then the records mention that the fair already brought in an average of 15 guilders. This means that the market was already well established and had market rights at that time - some sources claim that Muswiese could have even started in the mid-1200s - but there are no resources that support that. Either way - Muswiese is fucking old.
