Here is a shot from today of a Union Pacific manifest heading south down the Union Pacific Albert Lea sub. I looked at CTC earlier today and noticed a southbound was clear through Albert Lea. I got all the gear ready, and headed out. I would have taken the car for a chase, but a Blizzard warning, 40+ MPH winds and 10 inches of blowing snow made it pretty obvious that wasnt an option. I got out, dodging sliding vehicles and walking around30 and 40 inch drifts. Finally I got out, set up and waited. After about 10 minutes, i heard the horn, and got my camera set up. Conditions were so poor that I couldnt see more than a tenth of a mile down the tracks. My glasses fogged up as I pressed the record button, so I was unaware of how the shot would turn out. I later reviewed the video and was extremely pleased with the results. this train will go down as one of my favorite snow shots ever taken.
