As requested by ElleRokudo, I'll be covering Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition" with the Super Mario 64 soundfont.

Pictures at an Exhibition is a fascinating work, depicting several paintings by Viktor Hartmann and thus providing a wide variety of contrasts and imagination.
It even strives to depict the act of walking through said exhibition, through the use of a "Promenade" that reappears throughout the suite, changing in guise as the visitor would after each painting. The first rendition of this Promenade can be heard right at the beginning, as we enter the exhibition.
The exhibition's first painting, "The Gnome" is a strange, somewhat sinister piece (1:42). There's a certain tone of mischief here and, reportedly, the bizarrely irregular and unpredictable rhythmic figures that permeate it are meant to suggest the movements of the gnome itself.
