The Great Lakes are filled with shipwrecks. But these underwater time capsules are under threat from an unlikely foe: mussels.
Quadrillions of mussels have taken over much of the Great Lakes, anchoring themselves to any surface they can get ahold of, including shipwrecks. While filming the documentary All Too Clear, @InspiredPlanet-x6r discovered one of these wrecks-- believed to be the steamship Africa-- covered in the invasive mollusks.
