The voices stopped as Rayna reached the forest clearing. A small, abandoned log cabin was all that occupied the space. Rayna stared hesitantly as she drifted slowly into the lodge. Peering in, she found that it was almost completely devoid of anything at all. All that populated the empty room was a bloodied dagger, which was stuck between the floorboards. A sickly, ghostly mist drifted around the hilt of the blade.

“They say this is where innocence died,” the disembodied voice spoke once more without warning, startling Rayna.

“I don’t understand what this is. Or where I am,” the unicorn swiveled around, seeking out the source of the voice.

“How strange you resemble us so, but are not one of us.”

“And what are you?”

“They say I’m Snowy. The first of the scapeghosts.”
