Musical Fidelity was founded in 1982 by Antony Michaelson — a professional clarinettist who was simply dissatisfied with the equipment available to him. What started on a kitchen table became one of the most respected names in British hi-fi, producing landmark products including the A1, the Nu-Vista series, the Tri-Vista 21, and the legendary kW monoblocs. This is the story of Musical Fidelity, from its origins through to its acquisition by Pro-Ject founder Heinz Lichtenegger in 2018 — and where the brand stands today.
