Music Saint Joan of Arc

1. Dear holy virgin, Joan of Arc, maiden fair,
Triumphant victrix, Heart of gold, splendor rare,
Defend us always as thy sweet love knows how:
Sancta Joanna!

2. O faithful virgin, how great thy sacrifice,
For love of country, thou paid the ult'-mate price,
Yet though a woman, went into battle brave:
fortis puella!

3. Within our power, thy strength we imitate,
Thy supplications, aid us to saintly state,
Ne'er cease to succor poor ones who honor thee,
nostra patrona!

4. Strong stalwart fortress,
O Fortitude of France, Our hope, please make us
in virtue to advance. We will revere thee,
endlessly thanking thee;
Victrix electa.

5. To God the Father, and to His only Son,
and to the Spirit, while all the ages run,
Be glory and praise, for his gift of Saint Joan:
Virgo amata!
