![You Gotta Move [Lyric Video] presented by ValLimar Jansen
The incomparable ValLimar Jansen reflects on the rerelease of her first solo album, You Gotta Move. A traditional African American spiritual, “You Gotta Move” has a long history in blues and rock. ValLimar was introduced to the song by Catholic composer Bob Hurd and became familiar with many renditions, including Mississppi Fred McDowell’s legendary blues version. It’s been over 20 years since ValLimar released her own inspired rendition of “You Gotta Move,” with R&B, gospel and hip-hop influences, in her debut album by the same name. Listen now.
