Local Hare Krishna devotees all join in and pull the chariot of "Jaganath", the Lord of the Universe, through the main street of Murwillumbah for the Banana Festival Parade. This dancing and singing of their famous "Hare Krishna" mantra is called Sankirtan, and is said to be the easiest and most enjoyable path to enlightenment and salvation. Some even say that Christ has already returned in the form of His Holy Name "Krishna" to usher in the new Golden Age. In any case, these followers of bhakti-yoga, the "Yoga of Divine Love" are obviously having fun practicing what they preach!
