This is the "presentation" cut of the untitled "Joan Severance" series pilot. The presentation was edited from the unaired final episode of "Murphy's Law." The producers cut many scenes involving George Segal and the rest of the regular cast...and added some new scenes that established the franchise for the spin-off. Severance would have played a thief working for the "Interpol of insurance investigators." It was written by Michael Gleason & E.F. Wallengren and was directed by Burt Brinckerhoff.
