Here's the pilot episode of the short-lived ABC series MURPHY'S LAW, starring George Segal as an insurance investigator and Maggie Han as his girlfriend. The series, created by Lee Zlotff, was based on the DIGGER and TRACE novels by Warren Murphy. The showrunner for the series was REMINGTON STEELE co-creator Michael Gleason, who edited the original 90 minute pilot down to the one-hour version that eventually aired (the uncut version has also been posted). The original Mike Post melancholy theme was dropped in favor of an existing Al Jarreau song but is referenced several times in the pilot score. William Rabkin and I co-wrote 6 of the 13 episodes. The unaired, 13th episode of the series doubled as a pilot for a proposed spin-off starring Joan Severance...and ended with Murphy finally gaining custody of his daughter.
