Done! Without using items he's easily the most terrifying boss in the game on DMD mode. He can be so cheap and such a pain in the ass. I can't consistently counter his "light frisbee" attack as we call it. Thankfully he has an attack that gives you life if you are lucky enough for him to use it.
Where Nelo Angelo 3 was all about quick reflexes, this battle is about reading Mundus' moves and knowing what to do when. The problem is sometimes you can't do damage to him because you have to prioritize getting rid of his stupid laser spheres otherwise they will get you while you're trying to attack. Sometimes he'll just spam attacks that force you to dodge or get rid of spheres while he sits there laughing at you the whole time. This boss is such a coward!

This is the second time Ive beaten this challenge on Hard.
Other than the poor performance against Pegasus final attacks, it was a pretty good run.
Hard Mode bosses deal more damage (especially collision damage) and they take less damage as well. You have to practice and learn how the bosses work. A lot. For bosses like Commander Yammark, you have no choice but to take damage. So you have to know what to take damage from in order to minimize the overall damage youll take.

A mess of a first phase which is usually pretty easy but whatever...
The Blessed Hand Mirror saved my ass in the third phase. That last phase can become such a mess with the ground ensnaring Hinako while the boss is attacking.
The Omamori Im using are:
Blessed Hand Mirror - Restores Sanity and Health to maximum when Health reaches 0
Boar - Greatly increases Stamina recovery speed and greatly shortens Out of Breath duration
Suzuran - Perfect Dodges become easier to perform.
Rabbit - After a Perfect Dodge , press Heavy Attack to perform a powerful counter that drain all stamina")

My favorite stage. Its just so much fun. :)
My handling of the enemies in the first areas was pretty bad but I still got the no-damage.
