Footage shows the two-storey annexe in the back garden of a semi-detached home in Worcester, England, which was built by mum Clair Birch, 59, to give her disabled daughter a more independent living space. The £170,000 building replaced an existing garage and outbuilding, but Worcester City Council refused a retrospective planning application in November 2025. A subsequent appeal was dismissed, and the Planning Inspectorate has now rejected a further appeal to extend the compliance period. Birch has until February 2027 to demolish the unauthorised building or make changes required by the council. Planning inspector Sarah Hanson said the six-month period was sufficient to complete the required works, while acknowledging the family's concerns about the daughter's accommodation needs.
