This is NOT necessarily a ship edit, you can take it however you like! I just wanted to edit their dynamic cuz I adore their scenes together and how happy Mui is around Tanjiro💙

Happy Birthday to my baby Muichiro🥺💙💙💙 I don't remember the last time it was this bittersweet to celebrate a favorite character's birthday knowing that he's going to remain 14 forever😢 I've spent the last three months rewatching his season over and over again, analyzing everything he's ever said and done and getting to know his character better, so now that I know how his story ends it feels unnatural. He's made me happier so many times these past few months and watching him in the Hashira Training Arc was literally the only reason I got through my exams😩 Most of my exams were on Monday mornings and I was watching the new episodes on Monday evenings, so I was always like "okay you have to get through that, so you could go and watch Muichiro" and that always worked🥺 He's such a little ray of sunshine and does not deserve one bit of the b@llsh1t that's about to happen to him, idc what reasons people find to justify that awful writing but it does not suit his character at all and I'll never stop claiming that. I can only hope that the anime will do better with his character cuz he deserved so much more than this😩

No matter his awful ending this character is goated af and will always be one of my top favorites. I never thought I'd love a Hashira let alone have him as one of my favorite characters of all time, but here we are😴 He had 11 more years to live and deserved to have them more than anyone else, there's literally no reason why Sanemi lived and he didn't, given that Sanemi will d1e in less than 3 years and he has nothing good left in his life, while Mui was literally going to live with Tanjiro and the others (i'm not even going to argue about this, in the manga we can see a flashback of him hanging out with the Kamaboko gang)😩 Also, in the scene where everyone who d1ed goes to the afterlife he's the ONLY one looking back at Tanjiro, c'mon now🥺🥺 I hate how much the author nerfed him just to have someone k1lled off in the Kokushibo fight, like- not that I expected him to solo Koku but it was made to seem like he couldn't even scratch him and then 1 minute later when he's already mortally injur3d not only did he st@b Koku but also was the sole reason Koku d1ed? Like, pick a side LOL is he strong or is he weak? The way the writing for him changed every two pages during this fight was so sad, it was obvious that he had to d1e "for body c0unt" and nothing else, it's a shame given how developed his character is compared to 2/3 of the other Hashira. Anyway, now to my babies.

I disliked Tanjiro so much when I started the show cuz he was so annoying and boring (i thought the same about Mui but LMAO) but he grew on me so much during s2 and s3, those arcs definitely highlighted his strength and showed that he's a really good character after all. And ofc it was only a bonus that he treated Muichiro well since the start (i mean, after he said he can't stand him lmao that was a one-time thing)😩 After I went and rewatched the whole season I got very emotional seeing that Tanjiro almost immediately realized that Mui was not acting coldly on purpose but he had some problem that he did not speak about (what made it sadder was that apparently no one ever noticed or cared before Tanjiro did, despite Mui being a Hashira for three years now)😢 And I didn't realize just how much Mui was gonna change now that his amnesia is gone until I saw his Hashira Training episode and he smiled LIKE THAT when he saw Tanjiro like c'mon now🥺🥺 He actually looked his age in that episode and it was so refreshing to see him being so happy and goofy, it was the first time I realized that he's actually still a little kid😢 Their whole dynamic is so sweet and I loved that they got to be kids even if just for one episode, but now that I look back to those scenes they make me sad af cuz I know they'll never see each other again and Tanjiro will not even get to b@ry Mui's body cuz it's forever lost in the infinity castle😞 He just wanted to fold origami💔

I'm still trying to watch his scenes and smile cuz he's still my baby and for all I care he's not d3ad until I see it animated. After I saw the bad writing in the manga the only canon Muichiro for me is the anime version, and I'm counting on ufotable to do him justice💙

Dedication once again goes to Gonpachiro (@DeviliNsideMe ), idk if I hate you or love you for making me watch this show cuz I discovered one of my favorite characters but also a tone of tr@uma 😭 Nevertheless I can't edit Tanjiro's entirely straight persona without it being for you lmao😭💙
