Animation of the Mtoni Palace 3D model placed in a virtual environment by Zamani Project.

The 3D model was generated from 200 laser scans and 3000 photos, acquired by the Zamani team (zamaniproject.org) during a field campaign in 2019. The model was created by the team with RealityCapture.

The virtual environment was created with Unreal Engine.
Equipment used: Z+F laser scanner, Nikon D7200, Dji Phantom 4 Pro drone.

This project will help to preserve the palace in its actual state for many years to come.
The Mtoni Palace is located near Stone Town in Zanzibar, built for Sultan Seyyid Said in 1828.
