The first couple dozen maps are mostly default maps, still shipped with MTA:SA to this day. But we're now starting to thread into actual custom territory, I think.

0:00 170: "Wu Zi Mu" by Talidan and extra cps for release version by Ransom
From SP, not sure if the CP placement is accurate.

2:29 171: "Destruction Derby" by Ransom
It's the classic DD map as shipped by default, but for some reason none of the objects are there. I checked the map file, and all the objects' Y coordinates are placed 9000 units away compared to 3000 for everything else. I'm guessing they were too far out of bounds and gave floating point issues, and for some reason only the spawns & pickups got fixed. Idk what happened here...

2:58 172: "Airport Speedway" by BLASTAxerox
A return of a duplicate. Not sure what changed.

4:52 173: "Chiliad Climb" by DominionSpy and some extra sps for release version by Ransom
10:40 174: "Chiliad Climb by DominionSpy
Ugh, this race again. At least on this latest one the objects are back.

15:10 175: Empty .map file
Some .map files are just empty. Maybe these were removed from the center at some point? IDK what caused there to just be empty maps in here.

15:15 176: Unknown mapname by Unknown author
This is basically physics randomness. I do remember playing the bajeezus out of this map way back when, but I do not remember what it was called and especially not who made it. I had to video edit to deal with failed attempts, though miraculously I got it on the second try

15:57 177: Unknown mapname by Iggy248
16:37 178: Unknown mapname by Iggy248
17:25 179: Unknown mapname by Iggy248
I see what Iggy was trying to do here, and clearly he tested multiple methods with his buddies. But ultimately the idea of "stuntplanes must smash the caddies off the hay" doesn't quite work to me. Good effort though!

======== About this ===========
Maps from the database of center.mtasa.com as it existed before its shutdown back in 2008 or so. Race gamemode, users could upload their creations. When MTA:DM released, the center was shut down and the contents were unceremoniously erased.

Thankfully this archival copy exists by someone, I don't know who. I don't remember where I got it either.

Most of the map names, authors and descriptions were lost in the archival process somehow; only numbers remain. The numbers are in chronological order of map upload as the number would just increase for each uploaded map. Some information was preserved however, or could be looked up on the internet archive, or retrieved from individual copies of these maps.

Due to a server outage or similar technical outage, the MTASA team had to restore a backup at some point reverting back to entry 6225, with counting resuming as normal from there. A couple hundred maps were lost in that incident, unless their creators reuploaded them again after.

This archive goes up to map entry 6796, which I presume was the final map uploaded to the center before its closure or at least before this archival. Some numbers are duplicates. I assume there was no edit button so users would have to reupload maps for updates, or maybe editing really just created a new entry. Who knows.

Going to make a video of like 10 maps at a time whenever I feel like it for documentation purposes. I probably won't finish this project. There are a lot of maps.

I'm running a custom edit of the race gamemode that colors checkpoints randomly if they have no color set in the .map file. Without it, imagine most exotically colored checkpoints are actually just a plain deep blue. Ghostmode is forced on if it is not set, though ghost mode is a new addition to MTA and none of these maps would've had it enabled in the past. Vehicle weapons default to off if they are not set. I don't remember MTA:Race's behavior surrounding these. Respawn defaults to off if it isn't set. This would've been the default in the earliest of early days of MTA. Later respawn would be enabled on every map that has checkpoints, and later still it would become a configurable option.
