This is a painting of my beloved dog of 13 years Mr.Neilsen. He recently passed away a couple days ago and after listens to 'Happier' by Marshmello ft. Bastille and remembering the sweet music video I felt compelled to draw my beautiful boy. In a way making this piece was a piece of coming to terms with his death.
I really related to the music video of 'Happier'. My poor boy suddenly got sick on the night of the 20th and there was nothing I could do for him. He was so weak by the next morning my family and I took him to the vet and had him put to sleep. He lived his life to fullest to the very last moment I tell ya, he wouldn't let go without being stubborn to the end. My old crazy deranged old man.
Not having by my side is really hard. I got him when I was 5 years-old. For having him for 13 years it feels so foreign to me. He loved to play fetch and yell at everyone so he could get his way. Mr.Neilsen was my birthday present after my dog Gizmo had to be pot to sleep. I have felt pain while thinking about and missing her, but the pain I feel right now isn't even comparable to that. Hell typing this out is tightening up my chest.
Well I know he doesn't feel anymore pain and is with his beautiful wife Bubble who passed away just short of 2 years ago. He'll also get to see Duke my mom's dog who passed away in November as well as our old Cat cracker.
