A Christmas classic.
Wealthy Mr. Willowby orders a Christmas tree so tall it can't even fit under his lofty ceiling. Enter butler, who simply lops the top off and discards it. Enter bear, in turn, who makes off with the latter, only to discover it's too tall for him, too. More loppings; more latters; until, several increasingly small creatures later, a family of mice purloins the very tippy-top - right under Mr. Willowby's own floorboards.
A rhyming tale with a recycling message that is as valid today as it was when it was first published - almost seventy years ago.
