A cutout competition is being held in Essex, 1961. In this competition, there is a large cutout cardboard where a commentator says “Whether he’s a chubby hubby or a slim Jim, the winner is the one whose shape best fits the cut-outs.” There are several contestants who try to fit in, but in the end of the competition they find two men who fit the cutouts and laugh hysterically.

Before television, people came to movie theatres to watch the news. British Pathé was at the forefront of cinematic journalism, blending information with entertainment to popular effect. Over the course of a century, it documented everything from major armed conflicts and seismic political crises to the curious hobbies and eccentric lives of ordinary people. If it happened, British Pathé filmed it.
M/S of ladies in swim suits parading alongside a huge swimming pool at Butlin's Holiday Camp in Clacton, Essex; a large crowd of people watch in the scorching sun.
M/S looking through a cut-out shape at a crowd of people watching and laughing. C/U of a man's face in profile, trying to fit into a shape cut out of a large board.
M/S of the audience laughing. M/S of a Redcoat, dressed Norman Wisdom-style, trying to lever a man into a shape in the board. C/U of the man's face, then M/S of the audience applauding as he would see it from inside the cut out shape. The Norman Wisdom-type then tries to lever another man in (or out - I can't see the point of it) of a figure with a cricket bat.
An elderly, slim man steps up to fit into the thin figure - he fills it quite well; M/S from the side as we see a large man step onto the platform to fill the big figure. M/S from the audience of these two men who seem to both fill the cut outs perfectly, as the Redcoat chatters on. The audience watch and laugh.
M/S of a different man in the slim shape; a large woman in a floral dress steps up to try and fit into the big shape and gets shooed away by various Redcoats - this competition is obviously for men only.
