The Lawrence Hall of Science | Mr. Sally the California Desert Tortoise Munches on Sprouts @lawrencehallofscience | Uploaded 11 years ago | Updated 21 hours ago
Mr. Sally is a California desert tortoise, an endangered species so the Hall has a special permit to take care of him. CA desert tortoises are the official reptile of California too. Mr. Sally is 30 years old this year, and expected to live at least another 30-50 years. His favorite foods are dandelion flowers, strawberries and bananas. He loves climbing up and down his ramps and can do it non-stop for hours when he gets in the mood.

Meet Mr. Sally and dozens of other live animals in the Animal Discovery Room at the Lawrence Hall of Science.
