The first thing that I noticed taking the cube out of the packaging was its size. At 58mm, this is significantly smaller than standard 4x4s on the market, and even worse, this cube has very noticeably larger outer layers than inner layers. These are, at best, massively annoying, but I am willing to overlook these factors as a sacrifice if a cube has sufficiently good performance. My initial impression of the cube's performance was overwhelmingly positive. The turning is very fast and smooth, reminiscent of the WuQue Mini with compressed springs. It has a tendency to feel like it's significantly deforming during turns, but this never leads to actual issues like lockups or pops in my experience. These initial impressions made me hopeful that this cube could become my main, but as is, this isn't the case due to one fatal design flaw: corner-core magnets. On even layered cubes, corner-core magnets create an imbalance in the magnet strength when turning the r slice vs the l slice, and while this does not affect turning terribly often, when it does, it absolutely destroys flow, especially on riskier and less stable algs. With all this said, I'm still hopeful that this cube has potential to be a new main, but it would require an alternate magnet arrangement in order for this to happen. Steven is currently working on ideas for this cube and I'm hoping that the full potential of this design can be realized eventually.
