Three weeks after historic flash flooding devastated parts of Mower County, local highway crews and weary residents are still working hard to clean up and rebuild. With public infrastructure damage estimated at nearly $1.6 million, the Mower County Board of Commissioners has approved a disaster declaration.
Next week, representatives from FEMA and the SBA will arrive to evaluate the damage and determine if the county qualifies for federal assistance.
