This week we look at the director John Frankenheimer. John worked his way up to director, starting out in television before venturing into feature films. Working all the way through the 60s to 2000, he made a name for himself for making paranoid thrillers, like MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE and SEVEN DAYS IN MAY, high octane car chases, like the ones in FRENCH CONNECTION 2 and RONIN, and for getting good performances out of diificult actors like Burt Lanacester, Frank Sinatara, Gene Hackman and Robert De Niro. The films under discussion are SECONDS, THE ISLAND OF DR. MOREAU, RONIN and REINDEER GAMES (DECEPTION).
