Mike (@outsidewithmike) and I started the trip driving together to Whitney Portal. We stayed at Whitney Portal Campground a few nights to acclimate to the elevation before the big hike on Saturday 9/14.

This past Spring I found an invitation from Mike to climb Mt Whitney. His brother had secured permits. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity I could not pass up.
I followed Mike's journey last year. Through all the hard training and hikes. His inspiration taken from his brother Matt ( @runnermatt101 ) who is now 6 years sober and an ultrarunner. Both their stories have been inspiring to me and I feel lucky to be included on this journey.
Jim Lowe - High Country Chronicles, Knives & Gear (@highcountrychronicles ) was also invited. I'm a fan of his videos so I was looking forward to meeting him as well.
