This is a quiet, contemplative journey up Mount Pilatus, the landmark peak rising above Lake Lucerne in central Switzerland. No talking or music. Just the ambient sound of the climb and the calm of the Swiss Alps unfolding around you.
The walk begins in the village of Kriens, drifts upward in the small red panorama gondolas as the forest opens beneath your feet, and continues past the alpine meadows of Fräkmüntegg, where cowbells echo across the grass. From there the aerial cableway lifts you to the summit of Pilatus Kulm at 2,132 meters (about 7,000 ft), where narrow stone paths trace the cliff edge, paragliders float over the valley, and the view reaches out across more than seventy Alpine peaks.
