Scenic daytrip to view Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi.
If you're looking for great views of Mt Fuji then a 1 day bus trip to Lake Kawaguchi, which lies at the base of Mt Fuji, is ideal. Lake Kawaguchi is one of five lakes at the foot of Mt Fuji.
The bus trip starts from Shinjuku in the heart of Tokyo and takes about 90 minutes.
Take the bus from Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal to view Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchico. Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal is a major bus terminal located opposite Shinjuku Station South Exit.
Lake Kawaguchiko is the most easily accessible of the Fuji Five Lakes with train and direct bus connections to Tokyo. Great views of Mount Fuji is located around the lake's eastern end and on top of nearby Mt Kachikachi.
Mt. Kachikachi Ropeway
The ropeway gives fantastic views of both Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko, reaching an altitude of 1075m at its highest point.
