Mount Anak Krakatau in the Sunda Strait is still stretching. This morning, Mount Anak Krakatau erupted again for 2 minutes 14 seconds.
The eruption occurred at 09.39 WIB, Friday (4/1/2019). This eruption led to a column of ash as high as ± 1,500 m above the summit (± 1,610 m above sea level).
The ash column was observed to be white to gray with a thick intensity leaning north and northeast.
"This eruption was recorded on a seismogram with a maximum amplitude of 20 mm and a duration of ± 2 minutes 14 seconds," said a statement from the Gunung Anak Krakatau Observation Post.
Recommendations for the community around the mountain are still the same: not allowed to approach the crater within a radius of 5 km from the crater.
