The legend surrounding Williams well says that the Spring here will never run dry so after weeks of very hot weather I decided to visit Williams well and see for myself.
The surrounding land was parched and scorched, farmers complaining that the wheat is to dry and brittle to harvest, the risk of wild fires is extremely high and yet the water still flows in Williams well, and not only that but it is cold and sparkling and sweet.
Due to the geology in these parts it seems the water is coming from deep underground aquafers unaffected by the lack of rain or the strong hot sun.
Williams well I feel sure will be running for a very very long time to come.
