This carburetor on the 1978 Mercury Grand Marquis was missing the linkage which goes from the float to the needle. It is theoretically possible that I lost it but I don't remember one being on there the first time I took the carb abart. This is a rebuild carb I installed about 5 years ago. In any case I replaced the linkage with one from the carburetor rebuild kit.
