What are Motion Graphs?
A motion graph is a type of graph that represents the motion of an object over time. It shows the relationship between the position, velocity, and acceleration of an object as a function of time. There are three types of motion graphs: position-time graphs, velocity-time graphs, and acceleration-time graphs.
Position-time Graphs
A position-time graph is a graph that shows the position of an object as a function of time. The position of an object is the location of the object in space, and it can be measured using a reference point. The reference point is usually the origin, which is the point where the position of the object is zero. The position of the object is plotted on the vertical axis, and time is plotted on the horizontal axis.
In a position-time graph, a flat line indicates that the object is at rest. A line with a positive slope indicates that the object is moving in the positive direction, and a line with a negative slope indicates that the object is moving in the negative direction. The slope of the line represents the velocity of the object. The steeper the slope, the greater the velocity of the object.
Velocity-time Graphs
