How to make a (transparent) predator camo effect in Apple Motion 5!
I use two (2) groups. The lower group is just a clean background. The upper group will contain the actor and a distorted version of the background used in the lower group.
The actor is keyed from the green screen and that layer's blend mode needs to be set to "Stencil Alpha" to allow the distorted background to pass through the "shape" of the actor.
NOTE: the top group with the actor and distorted background must be set to "Normal" instead of "Pass Through".
I used the "Underwater" effect on the background to be distorted, but you should experiment with other distorting options and adjust the settings for the effect to your taste. Lots of potential there.
