We’re an adventurous bunch here at Dogfish Head and we have a hunch that if you’re reading this, you are too! As longtime supporters of The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and the amazing work they do, we’ve partnered with them in a whole new way with an off-centered rally cry … Mother Nature, Let’s Do This!
At Dogfish Head, we rely on the goodness of Mother Nature to provide us with the beautiful and bountiful culinary ingredients used in our off-centered beverages and dishes. And with a restless desire to explore at the heart of everything we do, Dogfish Head founders Sam & Mariah Calagione were eager to learn more about the environmental issues facing us globally and on a localized level. So, they packed up and hit the road for a month-long journey in our backyard that is the eastern seaboard. From oyster reefs to the very first TNC preserve, we’ve captured it all.
In a four-part docuseries, watch as Dogfish Head founders Sam & Mariah stop at 13 distinct sites to tackle issues like oyster aquaculture and restoration, land and water conservation, and so much more. In this episode, watch as Sam and Mariah learn about equitable access efforts at Mianus River Gorge Preserve and visit Block Island, which TNC has deemed one of the “Last Great Places” in the western hemisphere. They cap off the trip with an important conversation on climate policy in Boston, plus an up-close look at the impact of TNC river restoration efforts and the return of alewives to Maine’s waterways.
