What happens when you lose against the Mole Cricket, the easiest "boss" in MOTHER 3? Since the developer's foresight in this game is amazing, the arrogant insect has a few surprises in store for losers. This is a showcase of what happens when you let the Mole Cricket win, during the two separate occasions its fought.

This is everything I've found/noticed:
1) The only time you can ever see Lucas’ game over screen pre-time skip is by losing this fight in the prologue.
2) Normally, the Mole Cricket will engage Lucas automatically after speaking with Claus. For the rematch though, you have to have Lucas engage the Mole Cricket to proceed. Its sprite will even turn to follow Lucas’ movement as you walk around! Sadly, ramming into it does nothing.
3) The bigger Drago will remain hunched over, staring intently at the Mole Cricket unless you ram into the Drago from the side. When it gets back up (after landing on top of Lucas), it'll return to its normal position from before the Mole Cricket arrived.
4) For whatever reason, Claus’ PP is reduced from 22 to 0 for the rematch? This has been documented before, and it consistently happens so it's likely an oversight/glitch.
5) If you fight the Mole Cricket again after losing during the prologue, it’ll gloat, but if it defeats you in Chapter 7 they won’t accept the win under the assumption that you lost on purpose!
If you want to try this out for yourself, choose the "run" option repeatedly rather than "guard", so you can take more damage per turn. That's all you can do to speed up the process during the prologue fight, but for the Chapter 7 encounter you can start the battle with low HP (and/or get yourself poisoned by the nearby Horsantulas).
