So kukun kun's channel has been a massive treasure-trove of Japanese gaming history as of late.
In yesterday's upload of Game Catalogue II, Mother 3 was featured in the Nintendo SpaceWorld 1996 coverage segment of the show, which aired on TV Asahi on December 11, 1996. While most of the material is actually nothing particularly new, there are some never-before-seen snippets of what appears to be the forest or jungle area that was most known for featuring what appeared to be an early model for either Lucas or Claus. Or even, if the erratic nature of MOTHER 3's development is concerned, Ness. Details from this era of development is highly scarce.
I've applied some Photoshop filtering to enhance the footage as best as it could be to make out more details without making the reflections from the TV that the camera is recording off-screen from too apparent. I feel like I've transformed the clip enough that it warrants my watermark (which I think it can allow me to sidestep the rule of ethics I typically have for these kinds of uploads).

This is a re-upload of the MOTHER 2 LaserDisc footage I uploaded in 2013. Released alongside the VHS release, the LD edition, while still analog, allowed for a higher resolution in video quality and with crisper digital sound, making it superior to VHS by comparison as it allows us to appreciate everything on screen much more clearly.
In this interview, creator Shigesato Itoi and GTV editor-in-chief Koji Watanabe demonstrate a video of an early pre-release build as they discuss the then-upcoming game for Super Famicom. By this point in time (this interview took place likely sometime in before December 1992), the game was already going through an abnormally long development that would end up taking five years to release the game (six if you count the US release).
Being that LDs were an expensive luxury to own in the early-1990s, especially in Japan, its sort of interesting that the producers of this catalog video went the extra mile to get something like this released on LD. I guess video games were really serious business in Japan.

This is a re-upload of the Superman footage I uploaded in 2013. From Target: Get Into The Game. GITG showcases PlayStation and Nintendo 64 games from an era when simple, colorful games reigned supreme.
This game isnt too much worth speaking of. Well other than that PS1 version teased on that one frame seen at the end. Its only fitting that its promo should be just as bad; I guess even the marketing department had a hard time advertising this mess of a product.
1998 was the greatest year for gaming ever. Not cause of this game though.
