Astra is a transcendental and supernatural weapon created by the gods and presided over by a specific Deity. To summon or use an Astra, one must have the necessary knowledge, that is, the specific mantra that will arm, direct and disarm Astra. In Mahabharata, Arjuna had more Astra than any other warrior. Arjuna had almost all Astra except Narayanastra.
